More than 20 years of hair. One very personal reason for HER.

Hair has been a part of my life for more than 20 years, and throughout that time I’ve been lucky enough to experience almost every side of the industry. I’ve worked behind the chair as a stylist, managed salons, educated other hairdressers and worked alongside some of the industry's leading professional brands. I’ve spent years teaching colour, developing technical skills, exploring emerging trends and helping salons create elevated client experiences. I’ve had the opportunity to work internationally across New Zealand, Australia and Europe, including fashion weeks, editorial and fashion shoots. All of those experiences have shaped the way I approach hair today.

But after more than two decades in the industry, I realised I wanted to create something that was much more personal. And then life changed direction. While I was on maternity leave with my son, Sol, he faced some unexpected health challenges. It was an incredibly difficult and uncertain time, and it made us stop and really think about what we wanted our life to look like. Around the same time, I was made redundant.

At first, it felt like another thing to navigate when life already felt overwhelming. But eventually, I started to see it differently. Perhaps it was the push I needed to create something of my own — something that brought together everything I’d learnt throughout my career with the kind of experience I had come to value so much personally. Because during that time, I realised how much we all need somewhere to feel cared for.

Somewhere to be welcomed. Somewhere to take a breath, switch off for a while and leave feeling a little more like yourself. And I think mothers, especially, spend so much time caring for everyone else that sometimes we need a little mothering too.

So I created HER

HER was born from a difficult chapter, but it was built from passion. A private little sanctuary where you can come as you are, be genuinely looked after and have an appointment that is entirely your own. Of course, I want you to leave with beautiful hair. But I also want you to leave with something more than that — feeling cared for, elevated and ready to take on whatever comes next.

Your day. Your week. Your month. Whatever you need, HER is here for you.
